5 Reasons Why Foam Is More Interesting Than You Think

1. Foam is made up of millions of microscopic boxes. Each cell contains “struts,” which offer support, and “windows,” the spaces between the struts. When you compress the foam together, you’re pushing out air inside the windows and allowing the cells to become compact and rolled up. Voilà!
2. Foam loves fresh air. The unboxing magic happens once you remove the plastic covering holding it together. As this is undone, the polymeric structure of the mattress wants to return to its original shape. It draws in air from the room around it, and will be back to its full size in no time.
3. Foam provides a great support system. The molecular composition of Casper is perfect for weight distribution. Instead of feeling the pressure of a spring coil, foam’s cellular structure creates nearly infinite contact points for your body.
4. Foam is made to last. Denser foams have longer lifespans. Unlike springs, it doesn’t break down over time. We use a dense polyurethane foam at the base so that the top comfort layers keep their first night’s feel for thousands of nights to come.
