Casper’s 2016 Annual Impact Report Review
B Corporations are companies that have been certified to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Worldwide, there are just over 2,000 Certified B Corporations across 140 industries and 50 countries working together toward 1 unifying goal: using business as a force for good.
At Casper, environmentally conscious and accountable business practices are as important to us as a good night’s sleep. We are excited to share our 2016 Annual Impact Report with you. The report is an essential contribution toward our vision of building a business that works for people, the planet, and the bottom line.
We are proud of what our team has accomplished this year to improve our impact, and we look forward to learning from our peers in the B Corp community about how we can do even more in the years to come.
After participating in our initial B Impact Assessment, Casper has worked day (and night) to make countless improvements throughout 2016, including:
— Introducing social and environmental performance-focused KPIs into quarterly board meetings.
— Implementing and administering our first internal employee engagement survey where more than 90% of employees reporting positively on their experience at Casper.
— Creating a formal volunteering and community service policy which promotes all Casper team members to give back to their local communities.
— Developing formal supplier guidelines to give preference to suppliers owned by women or individuals from underrepresented populations, screen potential suppliers for negative or regulatory non-compliance, and ensure all manufacturing partners follow a supplier code of conduct policy — holding them accountable for social and environmental performance.
2016 was just the beginning of our continuous work toward sustainability, accountability, and transparency. We’ve got big dreams for what we want to accomplish in the future, and we look forward to sharing our continued progress in 2017 with you.
