After you survive hours of family small talk, trying your mom’s “healthy” take on stuffing this year, and sleeping in your childhood bed… comes the moment when you realize you ate enough to hibernate until Christmas.

The 7 stages of every Thanksgiving food coma:

1. Shock.
“I can’t believe I ate that much.”

2. Denial.
“I didn’t actually eat that much.”
“Did I?”

3. Anger.
“WHY DID I EAT THAT MUCH?”

4. Bargaining.
“I’ll never eat that much again. Don’t tell anyone.”

5. Guilt.
“I really regret eating that much.”

6. Depression.
“Wow. I’m so mad and upset and disappointed in myself for eating that much.”

7. Acceptance.
“I’ll sleep it off.”
