Daylight Saving Time ends. Hibernation begins. With less daylight, spending more time in bed just… makes sense. Take a lesson from our favorite arctic animals: hibernation is key to survival. Here’s how you can avoid winter’s looming cold weather and more importantly, ever leaving your bed. Stay in and stay safe.

Stock up on snacks.

Popcorn? Pretzels? Chocolate? Frozen pizza? You can never have too many options. Here’s how you justify the giant stock: What if there’s a blizzard and you can’t leave your house? You’ll go hungry without them!

Pile on the sheets and blankets.

The more layers, the better. Invest in more of both. Sweater weather? More like never getting out of bed weather.

Set up your bed desk.

There’s going to be a lot of days you wake up and can’t bare going to work. Standing desks were all the rage last year, but lying down desks are going to be in this season. Get a tray that doubles as dining table and desk. One minute you’re sending emails, the next you’re having dinner.

Replace your coffee with hot chocolate.

If you’re not going out, you don’t need caffeine. Your steaming hot chocolate mug will double as a hand warmer when the temperature begins to drop. Drink up!

Store extra chargers nearby.

Chargers go missing all the time. It’s like they get up in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping and walk away. Get extra laptop and phone chargers delivered to your door so you never have to worry about running out of power.

Get delivery on speed dial.

…if you’re still into calling places. You can also download any of the hundred food apps or visit the website to browse dinner options within your area. Either way, don’t trek outside for food when you can have it delivered straight to your door. Pro-tip: search by delivery time and no-fees to avoid long waits and cheaper options.

Pick your next movie marathon.

There will be time for many. Instead of looking for new movies you haven’t seen before, make a list of your favorites that you haven’t seen since the last snow day.

Discover Late Night Snap Hacks.

You can trick your friends into thinking you’re still out having the time of your life when really, you’re in bed. Snap a party scene, upload, and continue hibernating.
