Real World Recap: Bedisode 4, Blast from the Past
By Alyse Borkan | Jan 8, 2015
Seven attention seeking, trash talking, tequila shot taking twenty-somethings take on Chicago on the 30th season of The Real World. That much you know. But most viewers don’t realize that Casper is the real star the show. This season, the cast will be passing out, waking up, and making out on Caspers. And each week, we’ll bring you the recap you can’t find anywhere else on the Internet: everything that happens . . . in bed.
When we last left off, tension was building in The Real World house. And here we are — another day, another fight. Bruno and Sylvia are wrestling on his bed. Things with those two are really heating up. More importantly, did anyone notice that mattress sans sheets on the other side of the room? Apparently bed-making isn’t part of the morning routine on The Real World.
Nicole meets a girl at the bar who she wants to “get to know under the sheets.” They didn’t make it back to her bed, but our favorite non-committal “couple” are caught sharing a Casper upstairs.
The next morning we get a glimpse of one of the guys fast asleep on the bed swing. Snoring. Loudly. The cast spends the day working, drinking and partying. We almost start snoring ourselves when…
ANOTHER CASPER (WE MEAN, CAST MEMBER) ARRIVES — the first skeleton!
Quick rewind: skeletons are people from the cast’s past that they have unresolved issues with. They come on the show with the sole purpose of ambushing and tormenting. The first one is Sylvia’s “boss from hell.” Nicole greets her by asking if she wants to share a bed. Such a warm welcome for a skeleton.
The girls lay in bed together pillow talking — trying to figure out the skeleton’s story. Apparently she’s mean, crazy, a liar, and insert every other negative adjective here. To confirm she’s making The Real World house her home, the girls ask if the producers told her if she was getting a bed. We’re on the edge of our seats at the thought of another Casper! She responds with “yes, they did.” It sounded sassier on the show.
Minutes later, the CASPER BOX gets carried up the stairs. The Casper sits rolled up on a box spring. Hello, is someone going to make this bed!?
Crazy Violetta has heard stories about the skeleton from Sylvia, and totally has it in for her. “I’ve already made up my mind — I’m going to make her cry every night before she goes to bed.” Violetta, bedtime should be the best time!
We cut back to the Casper. Phew, it’s all set up and ready to be slept on. But not so fast — Violetta starts throwing the skeleton’s pillows down the stairs. “Her bed’s on the floor, because that’s where dogs sleep.”
Madison, clearly the nicest of The Real World girls, starts defending the skeleton, but when the rest of the girls accuse her of being a traitor, she tries to prove herself by grabbing the Casper off the box spring and attempting to hurl it down the stairs. Madison — put the Casper down, and nobody gets hurt.
Thankfully, someone comes to Casper’s rescue. “You don’t have to flip that to prove a point to us.” Madison responds with relief — and so do we. “Well, can I put her mattress back because I feel bad?” All hail Madison.
The Casper stays happily ever after on the box spring while Sylvia and her skeleton come face-to-face downstairs. Tune in next week for more crazy Casper time.
