The Hibernation Cocktail: Perfectly Paired with Netflix
March, April, May — blink — October. Wave goodbye to summer Fridays, and pull out the heavy sweaters you stuffed under your bed last spring. Any excuse to leave work early and grab a drink with friends a month ago would have sufficed, but now nothing sounds better than curling up under the covers. Luckily, the arrival of fall means the return to your DVR. The perfect accomplice to a binge-watching marathon? A drink that warms you up from the inside out.
Nothing compliments autumn more than a creamy cinnamon drink, and we don’t mean the new latte flavor at Starbucks. Grab your favorite dark liquor off the shelf; we recommend Jamaican rum and cognac. Mix it with heavy cream, cinnamon syrup, and bitters. The result is a not-too-sweet cinnamon bun in a mug. Yes, a mug. Wash your coffee out of the cup you used this morning and pour your nightcap in. Now burrow into that sweater and settle in that couch for a night of TV. Fall never felt, or tasted, so good.
