Casper Nightcaps: the perfect way to end the day. A few splashes of this and few stirs of that. Before you know it, you’ll be sipping your way to sleep. Cheers to booze and snooze.

Outside the window, the wind gusts are stronger, the days are shorter, and sun heads home before we do. It’s that time of year again when the end of fall marks the beginning of season’s greetings.

This riff on the classic boulevardier is full of flavor and holiday cheer. The Three Sheets mixes three spirits — Bourbon, Campari, and sweet vermouth — to create a cocktail that is sharp, rich, and has a smooth sweetness to curb the bitter bite. Not just for show, the twist accentuates the orange flavor in the Campari . If you could bottle up all of the warm, fuzzy season’s feelings, it would taste something like The Three Sheets. Host and toast your Thanksgiving dinner and then fall fast asleep… until Christmas.

The Three Sheets Nightcap
  • Combine 1 1/2 oz Bourbon, 1 oz Campari, and 1 oz Sweet Vermouth.
  • Add ice to the mixing glass, and stir briskly until cold.
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with an orange twist, expressed and inserted.
