If you ask us, waffles are the only thing worth waking up for on a Wednesday. To beat our mid-week slump, we headed to the West Village.  After stumbling on Oscar’s Place, we knew we found breakfast gold. The intimate seating, open kitchen, and generous coffee pouring made us feel right at home.

The lunch menu (yes, lunch) ranges from hearty British Bangers ‘N Mash to the more traditional Saucy Belgian waffle. If you’re in a dessert for breakfast mood, the Banana Split waffle will answer all of your dreams. After filling up on coffee and debating over the abundant menu choices, we settled for a more classic option: a healthy sized portion of strawberries, fresh whipped cream, powered sugar…and a side of waffle.

Trust us, it’s in there. The plate was drizzled with the right amount of strawberry sauce — just enough to add flavor without leaving soggy bites.

Casper’s very, very unofficial waffle rating: 8.9
