Not even the rain could keep us away from waffles today. Another Wednesday, another opportunity to explore all of the breakfast food options that Manhattan has to offer. A Ukrainian diner in the heart of East Village caught our eye’s — and our stomach’s — attention.

Since 1954, Veselka has been serving up greatness in the form of its specialty pierogies and 24/7 breakfast. We ordered a warm buttermilk waffle with a side of raspberry sauce. Not pictured: Chicken noodle soup and kielbasa. Rain calls for extra comfort food, ok?

Our order was on the table in less time than it takes to decide on an Instagram filter, and was gone in 60 seconds or less.

Casper’s very, very unofficial weather rating: 0.0
And waffle rating: 8.7
