What’s New on Netflix in January?

New year, new shows to binge-watch. At the beginning of (and throughout) every month, Netflix adds new movies and TV shows to its library. Need help deciding what your next Netflix commitment will be for January? We’ve narrowed it down so you don’t have to.

Casper’s Top January Netflix Picks: 

Parks & Recreation: Season 7 (The Final Season): Parks and Rec became a series of bittersweet send-offs to each of its characters, featuring everything from Donna’s wedding, Andy’s new TV show, and April giving birth in full zombie garb. Its final season is as sweet as it is hilarious. And now, it’s on Netflix, so you can relive the end again.

Meet the Parents (The Winter Comedy Classic): Meet the Parents is packed with cringe-worthy moments. Ben Stiller does his best to win over his finaceé’s father, with predictably unfortunate results. It is for anyone who has ever endured a weekend in the company of potential crazy in-laws.

Degrassi: The Next Class (The Canadian Teen Drama): After 14 seasons, Degrassi left TeenNick. Never fear. Netflix is there for us once again. Thus, we give to you… Degrassi: The Next Class. While much of the same cast is returning, Netflix is sure to bring even more teen angst drama (just via streaming). Brace for hormones, high-school cliques, and a whole lot of Drake cameos. Fingers crossed.

Pride & Prejudice (The Hopeless Romance): The 2005 movie adaption of Jane Austen’s early 19th century novel is the perfect flick to cure your winter woes or drift you into a blissful afternoon nap. It’s swooning, rain-soaked romance featuring quality performances from Keira Knightley, Donald Sutherland, and Rosamund Pike (pre≠Gone Girl). Dario Marianelli’s score and the handfuls of gorgeous people are the cherry on top. Trust us.

And most importantly, our Netflix Nosh of the Month: New year, new you, right? 2016 resolutions bring vows of gym memberships, juice cleanses, and weight-loss goals. For your January binge-watching session, cozy up to a hefty green juice, a superfood kale salad, or even an acai bowl. Just kidding. Save that for after your morning run, and take the outdoors inside (since you’re not going to step foot out of your house for the next 3 months) with chocolatey, oven-made banana s’mores
